Richard Coleman – obituary from the MND Association

Black and white image of a man sat down smiling at the cameraThe MND Association is saddened to hear of the death of Richard Coleman, a volunteer, branch chair and former Chair of the Board of Trustees.

Richard first joined the Association as a volunteer in 2005. His wife sadly died from MND the following year.

In 2011, Richard was elected as a trustee for the MND Association, quickly becoming an invaluable member of the Board, bringing his passion for the cause and his professional skills to the role.

He took over as Chair in 2018, starting a four-year stint which came to an end in June last year, a role he filled diligently alongside his time volunteering with the Chiltern Branch.

Richard was a regular attendee at Association events, a familiar face at branch meetings, and an enthusiastic volunteer in his local area.

Usman Khan, who took over from Richard as Chair of the Board of Trustees, said:

“Richard’s contribution to the Association was significant on many levels. He was a passionate advocate for people with MND and his corporate experience saw him bring valuable skills to his role as a trustee. He helped steer the Association through four incredibly important years while still dedicating time to supporting his local branch.

“Many people involved with the Association knew Richard and he will be sadly missed by many in our community and beyond.”

Our thoughts are with Richard’s family and friends.
