I had been following the work of the Association professionally for many years, but the loss of a friend's parent to MND bought me personally closer to the Association too.
Having spent much of the last decade working in disability charities and membership organisations, I have built a strong understanding of the sector and it's contributions to supporting those who need it most.
I started my career managing internal communications and engagement in a FTSE 100 retailer, but in the charity sector, I've built a passion for strong, audience-led marketing and communications campaigns.
Before joining children's charity Barnardo's as Director of Brand and Marketing, I have led comms, marketing and brand teams at Girlguiding, Scope and RNIB. I'm particularly proud of my work on awareness raising and perception-shifting campaigns in the disability sector such as RNIB's '#SeeSense' and Scope's '#EndTheAwkward'.
Having chaired cross organisational digital transformation boards and programmes of work, I'm also a keen enthusiast for the mainstreaming of technology which can support disabled people to enjoy inclusion and access across all areas of their lives.
I continue to learn on-the-job as mum to two young children and am passionate about causes which build a more inclusive and equal future.
